Ho, Brother Turkey! So freely you give, Of everything that you are, So others may truly live...

Turkey is thought to be the Give-Away Eagle of many native peoples. The philosophy of give-away was practiced by many tribes. It is the deep and abiding recognition of the sacrifices of both self and others.

They say true "Turkey Medicine" rests in true ego, in enlightenment. In the realization that all life is sacred and knowing that what you do for others, you do for yourself.

It has been noted, that when Turkeys come into your life (walk across your path or perhaps gobble at you in a gaggle from a tree) it is a sign that you are being given a gift - that the universe has a give away for you! This gift could be spiritual, material / great or small - but it is never insignificant. On the other hand, it may be that they reflect what you are already feeling inside - the "spirit of giving" growing within you.

Whatever the universe had to offer you this day with your Wild Turkey experience, it's nice to ponder - is it your turn to give? Or to receive? ...Some of the universal fragrance of the spirit of the Give-Away. Either way, it sounds like a magical day!
