Not the startup kind
In tech culture, bootstrap often means fund yourself, ship fast, scale. That is not what this garden means.
Here, bootstrap means standing up a working AI harness — tools wired together, habits formed, discernment practiced — so you can bring ideas to fruition without making models into lords or fear into fuel.
Seeking True North is an outpouring of that same posture Oz's constitution names under AI Bootstrapping: tools in hand, faith from and in Yahweh alone, Yahweh's headship never negotiable.
What bootstrapping includes
Bootstrapping in this garden is the whole climb from "I use chatbots sometimes" to "I have a harness I trust under Scripture":
- Choosing tools that pass the dual test — people served, headship honored
- Wiring them (editor, MCP, secrets, notes, deploy ladder) so friction drops without conscience dropping
- Learning pace — crawl before run; incomplete entries are allowed
- Pruning what looked organized but failed calibration
It is operational, not theoretical. The Harness Bed documents what; the Path Bed documents how the journey unfolds.
What it is not
- A promise that AI will make you omniscient or replace hard work
- A neutral productivity stack with faith bolted on later
- A race to adopt every new model because everyone else is afraid or excited
- A finished curriculum — this entry is sprouting because the language will sharpen as Root and Harness entries fill in
If you need a secular "get good at ChatGPT in 30 days" funnel, this is not that soil.
Pace: crawl, walk, run
Bootstrapping has phases, not a single weekend:

You are not behind because you are crawling. You are behind only if you stop calibrating to Yahweh and start calibrating to hype, novelty, or fear.
The Phases (sprouting) will go deeper on signals for each stage. This page names the word so the rest of the Path Bed can use it without ambiguity.
How this connects to the Foundation
Every bootstrap choice still runs through The Foundation:
- Does this genuinely serve people?
- Does this honor Yahweh's headship and serve His glory — or chase capability, novelty, or fear?
A tool can bootstrap your workflow and still fail Test 2. That tool does not stay in the garden.
Near-misses — things that almost sound faithful — are why The Calibration exists. Bootstrap without calibration is just speed toward the wrong bearing.
Still sprouting
This terminology entry will tighten as I write The Origin, The Gear, and the phase narrative. Until then: when you see bootstrap anywhere in STN, read it as faithful operational stand-up of AI under Yahweh's headship — not hype, not fear, not a map replacing discernment.
